Minister of International Cooperation, Air Transport, Infrastructure and Energy, Karim Wade, recently conducted the first reconnaissance visit plane which has equipped the company to constitute Senegal Airlines fleet.
''As the flagship project of Blaise Diagne International Airport, its work is progressing satisfactorily for the book to be delivered within the agreed time,''said the chairman of the Republic, in his tradtional New Year message.
Construction of new airport Ndiass were launched in April 2007 by the President of the Republic. The overall cost is estimated at CFAF 237 billion, according to a contract "turnkey" signed with SBG.
Funding is provided by a syndicate of lenders, grouped around BNP Paribas and Bank of Moroccan Foreign Trade (BMCE).
Abdoulaye Wade said that the airport management will be handled by Fraport. AIBD traffic is estimated medium term, three million passengers, allowing Senegal to build a modern platform last generation.
